Why use a pillow between your knees at all?
When you sleep on your side, your top leg drops forward and twists your hips and lower back. Mayo Clinic's advice for side sleepers is to put a pillow between your legs, because it "can help align your spine, pelvis and hips" and "takes pressure off your spine." Mayo Clinic: sleeping positions that reduce back pain. The problem with most knee pillows is that they slide out when you turn over. Ours straps on.
Will it stay on if I move around a lot at night?
That is what the straps are for. One goes around your thigh and one around your calf, and both adjust with hook-and-loop fastening, so the pillow moves with you when you turn over instead of sliding out.
Will the straps feel tight?
They should be snug, not tight. The bands are elastic and you set the tension yourself.
How big is it?
About 27.6 x 14.6 inches, and up to 3.5 inches thick. It runs from thigh to calf rather than sitting only between your knees.
Can I use it lying on my back?
Yes. Fold it in half and slide it under your knees or calves. Mayo Clinic suggests a pillow under the knees for back sleepers, as it "may help relax your back muscles."
Can I use it while pregnant?
Many pregnant side sleepers use a knee pillow to support the weight of the top leg. Check with your midwife or doctor about what is right for you.
What is it made of?
A memory foam core with a ventilation cutout in the middle, inside a zip-off cover with a soft top and mesh sides.
What colours does it come in?
Grey and blue.
How do I clean it?
Unzip the cover and wash it by hand in cold water, then let it air dry. Do not wash or tumble dry the foam core.
Does it treat back, hip or knee pain?
It is a comfort product, not a medical device, and we do not claim it treats any condition. What it does is keep a pillow between your knees all night, which is the position Mayo Clinic recommends for side sleepers. If you have ongoing pain, please speak to a doctor or physiotherapist.
